TWICE EXCEPTIONAL (2E)

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

CHARACTERISTICS OF 2E
There are many ways for parents to assist Twice Exceptional children, the biggest being identifying these students. Noticing the various indicators of 2e and getting a variety of professional diagnoses can help the identification and eventual assistance of these individuals occur much earlier, greatly increasing the chance for the individual to reach his or her full potential. Moreover, support of your children can have a positive effect on their abilities, as their self-confidence will grow. For more information, see the RESOURCES page on this website.

PARENTS
Educators can improve the lives and academic careers of 2e students having awareness of the many methods in which to assist these individuals. Teaching a gifted child or one with a learning disability is very different from teaching a child without one of those exceptionalities, and teaching a child with both is even more unique. If teachers are aware of the correct ways to teach these students, their true academic abilities will be reached while their disabilities will be remediated.
